1) Use a Teacher Toolbox.
2) Use plastic bins to organize your materials.
This is one of my absolute favorite organizational tips! Catherine Reed (The Brown-Bag Teacher) has several posts about how she uses these bins. I use them to store my math centers by skill. No more stress in regards to changing out my math centers. This tip seriously changed my life! Woo Hoo!
3) Use binders to organize your resources by subject.
Binders are my best friend! I used to use a filing cabinet for all my teaching resources. Needless to say, things lived there forever and often times went unused. I switched to creating subject binders and now I can find everything I need easily. Bonus – you can also read about how I organizing my read alouds into cardboard magazine holders.
4) Create a Sub Tub.
As a teacher, taking a day off can be super stressful. Especially, if you are sick. Sometimes it’s easier to struggle through the day, than to create plans for a substitute. Making a Sub Tub in the beginning of the school year will take this burden off you and allow you the rest you need to return to your classroom.
5) Use a planner and stick with it.
How many times have you written something on a sticky note and then lost it? I certainly have. I usually lose the important ones with meeting dates and times on them. Finding a planner you love and committing yourself to using it, will surely help you stay organized.
I absolutely love my Erin Condren Planner! If you are looking for a new planner you can click HERE* to try one and get $10 off.
